Dr. Pietro Grocco was a renowned Italian physician and researcher who made significant contributions to the field of cardiology in the early 20th century. Born in 1856 in Padua, Italy, Grocco showed a keen interest in medicine from a young age. 

After completing his medical studies, Grocco went on to specialize in cardiology, focusing his research on the study of heart diseases. He is best known for his work on cardiac auscultation, the practice of using a stethoscope to listen to the sounds of the heart.
